Parish Life

Both parishes have smaller congregations, where there is the possibility of knowing people and finding a personal welcome. Our congregations are a reflection of modern, multicultural Australia, with people of different ethnicity finding a home with us.

We are people committed to welcoming others in our midst, and have mechanisms to help people become known and accepted in our congregations. There is strong sense of hospitality in our parishes, and we have a lively social life, through combined social events, lunches, and fund raisers which are fun.

The parishioners have a commitment to worship which is vibrant, respecting the Anglican tradition while using contemporary means. We have a ministry of healing exercised regularly and used by our people in illness. We offer quiet, reflective worship during the week, and there is the opportunity for learning about prayer and spirituality.

families@fiveThere are many groups functioning in the parishes:
Men’s Group meets monthly for lunch.
MU (Mothers Union), three groups meet monthly
A Friendship Lunch bi-monthly
Singers Groups in both parishes.
Home Groups for study.

For families and children, we offer a family service on the 3rd Sunday of the month at St.Francis’ and children’s worship monthly, along with fun for the children, and a common meal at families@five on the first Sunday of the month at All Saints. We also offer school holiday programmes for children from our parishes as well as the community.

For our teenagers, we have a Cooperating Parishe's Youth Group to ensure that our teenagers can benefit from being with other young Christians for contemporary worship, formation in faith, catching up with each other, and lots and lots of fun.One of our young people, Rose, is employed as  the leaders of this group. We are committed to making contact with our wider community and supporting our local schools. Both parishes make considerable contribution to help to pay for chaplains in our local schools, and to support them. We are involved in our schools on a regular basis, taking morning tea to the staff.

Both parishes conduct an annual service for the Blessing of Pets in nearby parks and an Anzac Service for families in a local park is a regular event.

We are strong supporters of Anglicare, with regular collections of food. We are committed to supporting refugees whom we come in contact with, and have a good track record in this.

Our churches and their grounds are places of peace and tranquility. We welcome members of the community to visit and spend some time in our courtyards.
