A message from Sr.Juliana, parish priest of the Cooperating Parishes of Colonel Light Gardens and Edwardstown.
This is for those of you who may be thinking about attending church, or bringing your children to experience Christian Worship. If you have never attended a Christian church service, you may feel a little uncertain about coming, like we all do when we go alone to a place we are unfamiliar with, among people we do not know. You may worry about what to do when you get there.
You may have gone to a church in previous years but have not been for a long time. It is normal to feel anxious that things will have changed so much that you won’t know what to do.
Firstly, let me say, relax. Our parishes are always open to newcomers, ready to welcome them, ready to make them feel comfortable.
We are sensitive to how people feel, and make every effort to help newcomers as they initially attend worship services. The people are prepared to help you through a service if you wish. They are ready to offer warmth and friendship in a welcoming community.
If you are looking for a more relaxed beginning to worship, if you have kids, you may wish to begin at families@five, an informal family service at 5.00 p.m. at All Saints on the first Sunday of the month.
So, have a think about joining us for worship at either All Saints or St Francis. Or, if you would prefer to talk about the church, contact me at sisincar@chariot.net.au
